IT SYSTEMS
The following IT systems are available to the logistics team for planning both the warehouse and distribution processes. The information below clearly illustrates the handling of warehouse and transport orders: our dispatchers use the interface-ready program M-WARE for organising the administrative side of warehousing and distribution. M-WARE follows the order commercially from order creation to order invoicing. It also generates client-specific statistics. From an operative perspective, M-WARE can organise our fleet from loading to unloading and illustrate this using graphics. Moreover, the corresponding dispatcher can individually access and display the current order status by client.
Satellite-supported location system
The entire vehicle fleet has been fitted with the telematics system from TIS. This is a satellite-supported location system with diverse functions to alleviate daily distribution planning. This means that we always know the precise location of the vehicle or transported goods. Furthermore, TIS automatically documents arrival and departure times respectively at the loading and unloading points; this information is accessible even after a longer period of time has elapsed. The container processes are organised at the same time as vehicle planning. This method offers the option of deadline tracking and consignment statistics from Rotterdam through to the warehouse.
Naturally we can make this information available to the client, if required.
TIS onboard computer functions
The TIS onboard computer offers the following extra functions to simplify communication with the driving personnel employed by us:
- Transfers the next active transport order directly from the M-WARE system to the driving personnel
- Automatic navigation to the next client
- Communicates arrival and departure times directly to M-WARE
- Written communication by GPRS and manual entry of free texts
- Telephone communication using an existing hands-free unit; simplified by a stored address book
- Monitoring of driving and rest periods
Cutting-edge technology and flexible interfaces
We offer our customers a web-based, customer specific consignment tracking system through the M-Ware Data Centre in order to track the current order status and to download delivery confirmations. You can access a login page in your password protected area on the internet. This system is also available for the M-WARE warehouse area. Warehouse accounting is managed within a system connected through interfaces. This type of data exchange can be by paper, fax, Excel or interface. It goes without saying that each warehouse location is listed in the warehouse accounting system and that the goods or products are booked according to their warehouse location. Batch tracking, FIFO and quality controls are also possible with EDP support.
A precise list of specifications is drawn up for more complex warehousing jobs, for which we employ our own experienced staff as well as qualified external staff members.
